Take Home Lab

March 27th, 2008 by Morgan

Lab was exciting today, until the point where he asked us to take the larva wasps home. Professor Bruno had about 95 reasons why it was not a good idea for college students to have wasps in their dorm rooms. Finally, he just let us leave them in the lab and now we have to go check on them every day. Oh boy! This could get interesting.

Maria playing tennis

March 26th, 2008 by Morgan

I was walking back from my car when I spotted Maria playing tennis. Its always great to see my ex boss. (Hey, Maria is the greatest boss in the world!)

She was playing with two other girls on the tennis team, bouncing the ball around and who knows what. The ball kept flying everywhere and Maria would chase after it. Then one girl hit her right in the stomach with the ball and I tried not to laugh as I kept on walking. Maria looked like WWIII had just started and I did not want to be any where close to the fire!

I know my calculus

March 25th, 2008 by Morgan

Some one wanted to be a smart mouth in calculus class the other day and asked if the teacher subing during test day knew calculus. My professor didn’t say anything and kept on teaching.

Yesterday, on test day, the professor walks in askes  who wanted  to know if he knew calculus.  No one said a word. He chuckles and clicks play.  A music video started playing called,  I know my calculus. It was so funny. See, professors know how to have some fun too!

I’ll see if I can find it on YouTube a little later.

How to please a college student

March 25th, 2008 by Morgan

1) Feed us. We love free food! Its half the battle to winning us over.

2) End class early, or cancel class. Free time equals nap time.

3) Like cleaning? Lend a hand! Wash some clothes, make our bed… just saying. (I vote for the clean clothes though, I hate doing my laundry.

4) Phone calls from high school friends.

5) Money or gift cards. Ahhh money, what a wonderful thing. I love gift cards to my favorite stores.

6) Did I mention free food???

Running into people

March 20th, 2008 by Morgan

I spent my day running around from classes to meetings. Always fun. I kept trying to squeeze in a nap, which I some how managed to do for while (Best nap of my life!).

I finished with the greek party meeting, which was awsome since some guy named TC pretty much messed up the fence by the caf that recently shot up. The head of of APD wrote a 10 on his notebook and the whole greek life just errupted in laughter. So I finished with “the roll on the floor from laughing meeting” with my wonderful greek family and went to see Cristina. She was hungry so we went to subway and ate outside the caf, just having girl time. It was peaceful which was nice, until Rob got really hyper while he was out with his greek brothers and would not stop texting me. I was like, this is girl time!!! HUSH!

When he got home, Rob wanted to talk to me, so I went back to his room with him and Cristina were like, forget being up! I’m going to bed, good night you guys! Rob was doing homework and I was surfing the web on my phone while we chatted. After a while, he was like, forget this! I can’t focus, can you type for me? He walked around his room and I was just typing what he said. I was half sleep but I didn’t mind typing for him. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and it was Joey! He wanted Rob to sign a paper for him so he could run for SGA. All I see is Joey’s head pop in and hear him say, is that my blogger? I’m like yup, I’m just helping Rob with homework. Alyssa was like perfect! Then you can sign as well. I was happy to help. Although, I must wonder, when does Joey plan on making time for SGA? He’s in like… everything!

Today has been a day of old friends popping up. Robbie is home on leave from military school. I got a surprise phone call from him today. I was thrilled. Then my friend April started texting me. My life was rocking today. I feel like my old life is still part of me, that I haven’t totally said good bye to life before college. It’s hard to explain.

Oh and, who ever thought putting up fences around the caf was a good idea… it wasn’t. That only encourages us to find new creative ways to get around it. Don’t believe me? Check out the facebook page that was created for everyone that can’t stand the stupid fences at Lynn.

Relay For Life!

March 19th, 2008 by Morgan

Tonight in Sigma, we talked about Relay for Life, which shocked me to know that there are only 24 more days left until it is here! I know everyone has been working really hard on Relay for Life. I would like encourage people to donate money since it goes to help find a cure for cancer. Just think about it, if everyone who reads my blog donated $5, we could help people fight the battle against Cancer.

One of my sisters mom had cancer. I know a lot of poeple who have had cancer. Just a few days ago, I found out that some one I knew a few years ago, who lived next door to me, died of cancer a few months ago. I am so thankful that my sisters have been working so hard for months to make this event go well. I hear it is a lot of fun and a great way to bond with other students.

If you have facebook, check out what we are doing at Lynn to get prepared for the big day!

 Donate today!

Lunch/Dinner

March 17th, 2008 by Morgan

I was running around town and happened to drop by the school for a minute when I look to my left while driving to notice Eric driving right next to me. I was like, where in the world did you come from? He was just going for a drive and I was trying to cash a check from my grandfather for my birthday.

We ended up going all over the stupid city, neither one of us had much gas in our cars, I ended up having to open a bank account because my bank is only found in DC I guess. Afterwards, we dropped off my car since I hate driving and Eric loves to drive, and then headed out to find food.

We got stuck in traffic for two and a half hours! It was horrible! Eric was texting his girlfriend CJ since we weren’t moving and I was texting pretty much everyone in my phone book. lol. We could not get out of the traffic, it was horrible. We tried all kinds of back ways but we kept finding backed up streets. Eric went into New York mode and started driving in a way that would make Rob and Cristina fear for their lives. I on the other hand was like, you drive like a Kuwaiti. (It takes a lot to shock me in a car. Drive fast, drive like a crazy person, I’ve seen it all.)

Oh! And some old woman hit my car today! I was so upset! I nearly had a heart attack! I was like, my car! MY BABY!!!! It was about to get really ugly. Lucky for the both of us, neither of us had a scratch on our cars. Great, since she was a NUT CASE!!!! Who the heck pulls out of a parking spot without looking???? I was so upset, that was probably why I was so thankful that Eric was driving later in the afternoon. It seems all of Boca went crazy on the road today! Just… AAAHHHH! Look where you are going! My mom is happy that I am fine and I’m happy that I don’t have a scratch on my car.

Freshmen 101 tip: For the International Students!!!! Since I grew up over seas, I have an account with the State Department bank, which well, is not found everywhere in the states and leaves me tons of problems. My advice, talk to your parents about how they will send you money, who you will pay for stuff at school or checks that need to be from American banks in American Dollars. I learned a lot about banks today, they are annoying and confusing!

Also, another tip, old people are crazy on the road. Stay away from them or pass them. They can hit you and its no big deal for them. They have money and better insurance. Its a fact, get over it. That… and there crazy.

Spending time with Rob

March 16th, 2008 by Morgan

In the last 24 hours, I’ve spent a lot of time with Rob. Which is great, since we had a TON to catch up on. Sometimes we all just get really busy. Last night we watched movies and TV and just were really silly. Today we had lunch at Toojay’s. I had never been there before, so it was a lot of fun.

Now I am going to take a nap before I have to start doing all my homework. Homework sucks! It seems to never end!

Worried Sisters

March 13th, 2008 by Morgan

Michelle called me a little while ago to see how I was doing. She got worried since I had missed three classes that I share with her and she knew something was up. I told her what was going on and she is going to send me all my homework. Being part of Greek Life can be great sometimes. I had a frat guy last night stop me to see how I was doing. Just, everyone takes care of everyone in the greek system. I’m just glad only one of my sisters called me though! Try having over 40 girls worried calling you every few minutes. I would get no rest!

The ER doctors thought it was funny that the only person with me at the hospital was my ex boyfriend. lol. Hey, I found it amusing too. Life can be funny sometimes and I’m glad I’m slowing down long enough to notice how funny it can be!

I guess I should call Cristina so she doesn’t break down my door from worrying to much.

Second trip to the ER

March 13th, 2008 by Morgan

I spent 6 hours in the ER today. My life is fulfilled. I love being poked and asked tons of questions. Turns out, due to stress, I have given myself gastritous. Sorry, no clue how to spell it. I’m one worry short of giving myself an ulcer! Great! So I am on a liquid diet for a few days and a long list of other stuff and taking tomorrow off so I can rest and catch up on sleep and food since I haven’t been eating or sleeping lately due to my stomach being in constant pain.

My parents are happy that I am home now and am resting. I’m talking to my dad now and he’s all happy that I’m ok. My mom sure made a huge fuss all day until the doctor told her I would be ok.

And I broke my phone while filling my prescription because everyone was calling me and I dropped my phone while trying to juggle a bunch of stuff. Not happy about that. I got really upset and called my mother. I was just so tired and stressed and hungry by tonight that I just started balling on the phone with my mother. It took her a while to calm me down so I could drive home.

Well off to bed to destress.
