A Fresh Look

Speeding for class

by Morgan | February 10, 2009

A lot of times, students will come in saying that they got stopped by campus security or the cops on the way to class and the professor will let them off easy (of  course with proof) because they feel bad. Yes, students are so worried about getting in trouble with their professors, they would rather be given a ticket than to show up late.

Well, today, I was shocked to find out that one of my classmates got a ticket on his way to class… and now has to go to jail because of his speeding.

I for one know how hard it is to get up in the morning sometimes for my early classes, but my oh my, speeding so fast you have to go to jail? Wow. I was shocked at first, but now, wow. I feel bad for the guy. I mean ya, he was speeding, but that is just a bad morning! Plus, he was still late to class.

Well campus security almost gave me a speeding ticket for power walking! What can I say, Advertising and Public Relations with Erica Grodzski is vital, and I break the rules, no no laws to attend her class. I understand students not wanting to be on their professors “bad side,” but go into class five minutes late and get the notes from someone else, you may just make a new friend! I must admit, my morning alarm rings six times and then I get the drift “Oh, I have class in fifteen minutes!!!” Morning classes are rough, especially on a Friday after a long night of who knows what!
