Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving Lynn University!
This year is a little different for me, I’m staying in Boca Raton since I cannot afford to go home for the holidays which may sound like a huge bummer but thanks to my amazing best friend Cristina who also is staying in town since she has to work early Friday morning, we are having Thanksgiving at her place. It may be different but we plan to make it a blast. We already have a list of our favorite foods and the recipes from home which is going to be interesting to see the differences between the dishes. I’m really excited about doing my own first Thanksgiving with Cristina. I know my Grandmother is very upset that I’m not going to be with my family this year and my mom keeps crying that “she misses her baby” but the plus side is that I don’t have join the masses of people out there traveling these next few days!
So what am I thankful for this year? The amazing support and love that I have gotten from those closest to me. This year has been one crazy rollercoaster and having the support of the most important people in my life has meant more to me than words. I have a roof over my head and food in the frig which is more than some people can say. I have a job interview on Friday so there is hope. I’m thankful that even though I am not home this year I still have something to look forward to, a fun day of cooking the recipes my family has been showing me how to make all these years. Lets hope I don’t mess them up!
Don’t forget, the small things make the biggest difference. How about this year, instead of eating turkey sandwiches all week, how about you make a few for the homeless? Everyone deserves to feel loved and having a Thanksgiving meal is something some take for granted. I recently donated some canned goods from my pantry. Even though it is nice to have a stock pile, others need it a little more, and you don’t need a lot of money to give back!
