First Event

by Morgan | February 27, 2008

I am hosting my first event this thursday! I’m excited but very nervous. I have so much to do and the list never seems to have a bottom! Soon as I think I’m getting close, three or four more things pop up on it! I could not do this for a living!

Anyway, I am bring in a speaker, Dorothy Davis to talk about her life and her job at the United Nations. I’m very excited to have her come to Lynn.

Check out the facebook page I created for the event, and if you are in the Boca area, drop by!

Messy room

by Morgan | February 22, 2008

My room is a mess right now. I have been hunting for my BSU shirt which is no where to be found. Err. So yes, now my room is a mess and there are shirts covering the floor. Where is that stupid shirt? I don’t know how I keep losing so many shirts in this tiny room!

Busy Busy Busy

by Morgan | February 21, 2008

Today has been a seriously busy day. I am just now slowing down at 10:23pm. Not a normal day for me. I want to say congrats to Tauran (who is one of my sisters) for her efforts in the Monopoly game tonight. Awsome turn out! Just, did we have enough to break a world record? That, I still do not know, but will find out so I can tell the world! lol. It was a lot of fun and I met a guy named JD who is going to be a Lynn  Blogger soon. I was shocked, to meet him but it was a lot of fun getting to know him. Here’s hoping to see him as one of our new bloggers in the next couple of weeks!

So I am doing a ton of stuff for Black  Student Union that needs to be done right away which is keeping me very busy. I don’t know how I am going to get everything I need to get done tomorrow. Holiday season is the worst time. There are never enough hours before a break! Spring break starts March 1st.

Uh oh, my stomach is empty. I better go get some food before I go to bed. Plus, I have a lot to do before I can even get to bed!

Something in the food?

by Morgan | February 19, 2008

A lot of questions lately, huh?

Today, everyone has been acting silly. Maybe its something in the food? Gene and Nicole were acting crazy in the line at dinner, and Samara was as random as ever. Eddie came out of know where! It was nice of him to join us for dinner. I am so lazy and tired today. Oh well, can’t be lazy all night long, I have work to do!

I’m so proud of myself, I got some paper work in today which I am hoping goes through and I get the funding for an event that I would like to host at the end of the month for BSU.

*looks at clock* An hour left until Tri Sigma study hall! I think I will work on English tonight.

Freshmen 101 tip: When everyone is acting crazy around school, eat out. lol. Just joking….

Sam

by Morgan | February 17, 2008

How is it when I need to find Sam, I don’t see him  for days, but soon as I get my answer, he pops up! I swear he knows when I am looking for him for Black Student Union  stuff!

I just finished emailing him all these questions and got half the answers and then he pops up! Of course! lol. And of course  I had given up on finding him so I forgot half the stuff I needed to ask him! Life is funny.

Oh and there seems to be a death storm headed out way.Great. The sky looks really dark and scary on one side and the other all nice and sunny. Florida!

Its been a good week

by Morgan | January 31, 2008

This week has been pretty good. It has been full of fun and exciting new memories. I will start with the KAT program earlier in the week, a comedian named Pete Holmes. He was funny and really got the crowd involved. Sadly though, us in the back got picked on too. Hehe. Cristina and Dee were trying to hide but it didn’t work, he still would comment on stuff we were doing. I want to look up some more of his work.

Hmm… what else? I had a BSU meeting on wensday. Always fun to see my boss rushing by the door and turn to look into the room and make a face at me. I ran out of the meeting to explain to Maria why I wasn’t at work. She’s so cool and laid back. We were joking around for a few more minutes when I realized that I had just run out of a meeting. Oops. Poor Sam was covered on all sides but a bunch of girls. The guy can’t get a break! BSU girls seem to pick on him once we out number him a good 3 to 1. He’s a good sport, and a hard working president so its all good.

Now last night! That was a wild night! I thought the last basketball game I went to go see was intense! This one went into over time. I keep missing the girls games! Why must they be at the same time as work and meetings??? The guys played hard, they were fighting to stay in the game. The buzzer went off and it was tied. Five extra minutes were added to the clock and Lynn University was going mad! Once again, number 4 impressed me with his three pointers. Number 34 is one of my favorite players, he doesn’t just fall, he slides across the court. The game was so close, we lost by a few points but the team really shouldn’t be down, it was a long and hard game. They were amazing, and there were plenty of people cheering them on!

Oh and our dance and cheer teams. I may be more in favor of the dance team because so many of my sisters are on it, but they are both pretty good. I know a lot of the girls on the teams so its a lot of fun watching them do what they are good at, bringing out school spirit!

I think baseball starts this week… this could get interesting!

Good luck Knights! Fantastic game last night. And to the guys on the team, numbers, 3,4,5, 34, and 50. You guys were great! I really need to find out your names. A little help Gene? *laughs*

The Holiday Gala: A Frosted Formal

by Morgan | December 6, 2007

The Gala was wonderful. Cristina kept calling me every few minutes to see if I was ready, and half the time, I was in the middle of doing something. I almost burnt my hair because I was trying to get to the phone.

Rob took forever to get to the buses. Cristina was calling him and grumpy until he showed up out of nowhere and freaked us out.

The bus ride sucked. There were these two couples in the back making all kinds of noise and being stupid.

Cristina was wearing a blue and black dress for the Gala, and I picked an all black dress.

So we walk in, and there are two lines, one for under 21 and 21 and up so they could get a band for drinks.

The food was ok, not the greatest, but it sure beat the food in the caf so it was all good. They didn’t start until the band started playing.

I had met this guy named Matt before we were allowed inside the hall, and he comes up to me soon as the second song starts and informs me that I owed him a dance.

Dancing all night with my sisters, my friends, and some of my very goofy classmates made the night awesome. No one knows how to party harder than the greeks! Soon as they put on we are family, there was a glob of Tri Sigma’s and ZBT’s. Thats one way to get a bunch of girls jumping in heels. We were singing at the top of our lungs.

A Lynn student was asked to play the drums on stage, I think his name was Eric. It was awesome to see one of our own rocking out on stage, having a good time. We were cheering him on and dancing. He did a great job and blew some of his friends mind away. The whole bus ride back he was calling up every one he knew and telling them about it. THE WHOLE RIDE BACK. lol. “You won’t believe what Eric did! He can play the drums! I’m serious! It was great!”

I got a chance to build a closer relationship with my friend Dee. We talked that night a lot and I learned that she is a great listener when you need one, plus she gives great advice.

For the song “This is how we do it” seeing as the song is so old, it was awesome to see all these people still singing every word and jumping like we were all back in the late 80’s early 90’s. I almost felt like I was being sucked back in time for a few minutes. BSU some how found itself to the middle of the dance floor hopping up and down. Who the heck new that Sam could jump so damn high???

By the end of the night, we were all having so much fun dancing, that we started asking for another song. It soon became a chant of “One more song.” One of the back up singers randomly walks to the edge of the stage, starts singing Sauja boy and starts doing the dance while singing. Haha. That is how we ended our night!

First sporting event

by Morgan | November 16, 2007

I went to the basketball game last night. ( I forgot to post it…. ooops!) I loved it. I was screaming and cheering for Lynn.

There were moments when I would cock my head and was like damn! That was cool. They were fast and smooth with some good moves.

I love the guys in suits that were on the bench! It was great. (they looked great, well… the whole team looked great, but I think I am totally just a huge basketball fan.)

Then there was the dance team and the cheer team. Both had some nice moves. I saw a lot of my sisters out there. I even saw a few BSU members on the court dancing.

I had no clue what I was missing for weeks! Damn! I can’t wait for the next home game of any sport. I better find Gene and ask him when the next men’s basketball game is at home.

Freshmen 101 tip: Watch the sporthing events. If you are a big fan of one of them, check out the teams and find out when they are playing. Its also a great way to meet new people. A future love interest perhaps? Lynn students have a great sense of school spirit.

From what I remember of the game from last night, number 4 had a great shot, and I think it was number 12 that has some fancy foot work going on which was pretty cool to watch.

Freak Fest

by Morgan | November 1, 2007

Black Student Union held a Halloween party called Freak Fest. There was live music and poetry reading. It was a lot of fun, for the people who showed up. More than half of BSU didn’t even show up which was insulting all on its own.

(If anyone wants to get music from that night, talk to Sam, maybe he can hook you up with the CD Street Music.)

The few of us that were there had a lot of fun and some were even dressed up. The food went to fast, it was almost as if it was never even there. I’m guessing we should have ordered more then. Oh well.

I was having a hard time trying to enjoy myself since Cristina kept calling me every 5 minutes which was very distracting. She needed to talk to me, but I had work to do which was making it really hard to do by answering my phone very few minutes while trying to juggle wooden chairs.

People then started calling and texting me like crazy and I just got so frustraited that I turned off my phone. I walked out of the building and went for a short walk. I couldn’t take anymore. I needed space. I missed a phone call from Robbie which I really wish I hadn’t, but I couldn’t take anymore of the damn phone ringing every few minutes.

I came back for the last 10 minutes. Sam told me I could go home but I really needed to move to get my mind off of stuff. I went crazy with cleaning and organizing. It kept my mind off of Cristina nagging me all day long. The DJ was still around and played music while we cleaned up. Man, I wish I had video of that. We would randomly break out into dance. It was the sexiest clean up of the caf ever!

And who knew Daniel could move like that??? He had some friends with them, they could dance!

Black Student Union BBQ

by Morgan | October 3, 2007

We had a BBQ today! It was great. We have a nice turn out.

A quick run down. All the new BSU members got shirts. Very cool shirts. People wanted them too so we handed a few out.

There were hamburgers and hotdogs. Cooked with love by the BSU. The guys entertained by dancing. We had music until the guys that run the movie on the wall decided that they wanted to use the speakers. It was cool in the end. We entertained ourselves. Besides, Dan was slacking on his DJ work… he got distracted by food. lol.

The guys were playing football for a while. Lots of dancing and joking. We were all being silly. Sam was calling people over. I texted all the lynn people I knew.

I had fun. I staid till the end. I met a guy name Eddie. He’s cool. He wants to be a diplomat so we talked for a while. I told him about my life since I lived the life.

For those of you who missed it that go to lynn. YOU MISSED OUT! The food was great, hot guys, sexy ladies. *shakes head* what a shame.

This school is full of hotties if I think about it. lol.

I loved how people kept walking over, would stay for about 10 minutes, get some food and go. Lauren came over from Cheerleading very hungry. A few guys came over to help us with the fire. 15 guys and they would not figure out how to start a fire! Seriously??? Weren’t any of them fire freaks as a child? Not one? lol.

At the beginning, Sam left me to watch the very raw burgers try and cook. I was just standing there poking them. lol.

I guess I am going to have to put pictures up later. Photobucket is giving me a hard time today. Oh well!

Dancing in my room with Cristina. lol.

BSU rocked tonight! Thanks for coming to those who came, and we missed you to those who didn’t!

SLACKERS to those who didn’t help clean up! haha.
