Iggy the RA
Iggy is still on crutches due to a skateboard. I say that skateboard should be burned. Apparently it put its owner into the hospital as well right before it ripped up Iggy’s foot. He can hardly walk. I cannot remember but I think he said there was bone sticking out or something. I do remember him saying that it was dislocated and that the muscles are messed up now and he needs surgery. How horrible! A lot of people skateboard around Lynn and I have seen a few people have bad falls on them.
How to scare a baseball player
Cristiana and Samara were helping me move some heavy stuff to my new room last night. Samara had the frig, I had the microwave, and Cristina had two suitcases. Well, we like to tease samara by saying that she has superhuman strength because she can carry really heavy stuff and it doesn’t bother her, while the rest of us can’t even push the object.
So we are walking across campus and we yell at a guy to keep the door open in my new building, dehornle, which he does, and then he kindly asks, do you guys need help, looking at Samara who is holding the frig. She says no, I’m fine, but you should help her, pointing to me with her nose. The guy looked so confused like, but you are caring the frig! That’s only a microwave! Lol. (By the way, my microwave is HUGE! We joke that I could cook a turkey in it.) So he lifts it with ease, carries it up stairs for me and then leaves, shaking his head, in great confusion of what just happened.
So to the random baseball player that helped out last night, thanks! Lol. Sorry we scared you.
Think twice
Freshmen 101 tip: Do not move in with your best friends. No matter how good you think it is going to be, listen to those who have tried it. Moving in with your best friend can cause you to lose that friend. If you think, oh well we practically live together, that is not LIVING together. There is no excape, that person is going to be in your room. If you get into a fight, you are trapped unless you have a class or a car.
Fights seem so much worse because it is hard to cool off when the person is 5 feet away from you. I think they are worse because people have the chance to keep fighting for longer periods of time. You can not walk away and go to your room, because chances are, you are already in your room!
It is just not a good idea. It has been proven to end badly.
But if you don’t want to believe me and still want to try it out with your best friend, who you are sure you will never fight with, set a time limit for a trial run. If it doesn’t work out, no hard feelings.
Just remember, living with some one else, some one you know, you see sides of them that you would never see otherwise, and sometimes, its not something you would like to see.
Spring cleaning in the fall
Don’t ask me why, but Cristina and I got really into cleaning today. We cleaned the room like there was no tomorrow. We mopped, vaccuumed, scrubbed, and who knows what else! This place looks great and we feel great. Our room is sexy!
Samara of course came in and was like, what did you two do? lol. She thought we had gone crazy because we were so hyper after cleaning the room.
Triple Threat
I’m looking forward to this friday. My roommates and I have planned a girls day. No boys! lol.
Shopping, lunch, a movie. We have tons of stuff planned for friday. We are all busy, so we are taking this time to reconnect, to become closer, and well… shop!
I live with my best friend and a friend who is getting close to that best friend status. Sometimes we just need a girls day to remember why we love each other so much and why we chose to be roommates.
I would say where we are going to eat and shop, but I’m pretty sure that would cause my mother to close all my accounts that day. Haha.
By the way, my sister Michelle is the best sister in the world. I don’t know what I would do without her in my life.
Alright, off to bed with me. I’m sure my dancing at my desk as I type this is making Cristina laugh into her pillow.
Hey blog squad, get your rest, photo shoots tomorrow! That means 20 minutes in my closet trying to figure out what to wear tomorrow… oh boy.
What goes around comes around
Colds, stomach bugs, the flu. I live in a germ happy world. Welcome to college, germs love us here!
Right now, one of my roommates is sick with the flu. Fun, so I spend most of my nights waking up to her coughing in her sleep, and wondering if the three of us might have to take a happy little trip to the hospital.
Well, last night Cristina and Samara went to the hospital. I was in Orlando, enjoying being scared out of my mind when I got the call.
Ugh, college! When one Tri Sigma gets sick, we all get sick. Yes, we even share our colds. lol. Hey, at least we are all sick together so we take care of each other. That’s an upside of it if you want to think of it that way.
Then living in the dorms, it is like asking to be sick. Over worked college students not eating right, sleeping, and some who party for hours. Oh yes, that is def helping us fight off the latest cold.
So what is a student to do? Load up on the cold, sinus, allergy medications that you can get your hands on before school starts! Eating right always help, and last but not least, get to know the school nurse very well!
The new face of Phi Mu
Hmmm… where to start? Normally I don’t have a problem starting posts, but this one is a challenge. I want to get it right!
Phi Mu initiation was tonight and now Samara, my lovely roommate is now fully a Phi Mu… which means she’s now not only my roommate, she’s a greek sister to me! Although we are in different sororities, I still love the fact that she is part of the greek system now.
If you are greek on this campus, it means something. We support each other, we don’t tear each other down.
It may sound like a lot of work, loving your sisters, then loving sisters from another sorority, but there is a lot of love in the greek system at Lynn. I can’t say anything about another university, but at Lynn, we support each other, and learn from each others mistakes.
I had a lot of fun doing Samara’s hair and make up tonight for the initiation. Which she of course put up and swapped for sporty cothes the moment she got home. *sigh* at least I got it on camera!

I love you Samara!
Broken washers and dryers
All the washer and dryers are broken in the E. M. Lynn. Ugh, so now all the upper classmen are walking around in strange clothes that what ever they can find that is clean. None of us want to talk across campus to the laundry room. Oh the horror! lol.
I went to midnight bowling. *yawns* I had a lot of fun bowling with a bunch of Lynn students. Now I am ready for bed and a busy day of homework tomorrow!
Crazy photos from this weekend to come! I’ve taken so many photos this weekend! Now just to go through all of them and find the great ones to share!
Were’s the hold up? Parking!
This is mostly for returning students.
I was trying to check in on MyLynn, when it said that I had a hold. I was like, ahhh, how in the world do I have a hold on my account? Well it was in parking. So I called the school and asked what was up with that, since even Cristina has a hold on parking, and she doesn’t have a car. Well security informed me that each year we have to fill out a form (click here for the form) for parking. Why, I do not understand, but we must! So I filled out the form and sent it in. Now I am just waiting for the ok that will allow me to check in. Problem solved!
I can not wait to get back on campus! Oh its almost to hard to stand, all this waiting! The 6th seems so far away! I am looking forward to seeing Ashlea so I can tell her happy birthday in person and give her a hug! Classes start up on the 8th and I still feel that is way to long to wait for my first class. Yes, I was the kid in middle school that loved the first day of school. But the first day of college, 15 times better! lol.
Cristina just flew down there this morning, which makes me jealous. She’s already in the beautiful Florida sun. Rob texts me every day about what we are going to do when we back. I’m not quite sure when I plan on sleeping for the first month. Between new science classes, to hanging out with my friends, to blog meetings! Oh boy, So busy and I could not be happier to be busy once again. Then work starts up! Yes! Teaching again. I miss the kids hyper happy little faces while they learn new skills which to them look crazy, but for us coaches are old news. (Now that thought makes me feel old!)
School, dorm life, sisters, friends, parties, movies, dinners. So much to look forward too! Ooo… and my car. Can’t forget the car, which probably will be very cranky and won’t start once I get back. Oh well, work on that when I get there. Back to Boca Raton. Back to the lovely sun and the bright open space. Oh so much to look forward too!
Hmm, still got to go shopping for cool dorm stuff! This year, I have two wonderful roomates who want to have the best room on the floor. (No pressure there! lol.)
8.8.08
Do you know what today is? Today is the day I become glued to my TV. That’s right, its the Olympics! HEAVEN! Of course I’m totally rooting for Michael Phelps. My cousin got me intrested in him during the last Olympics.
Swimming, soccer, and gymnastics. Ya, I’m going to be getting a lot done. I guess I’m going to have to stop for a few minutes and call Cristaina on Sunday since it is her birthday…. hmmmm…. must make time for that or I’m going to get an ear full.
The first few days back to school are going to be so exciting! I have so many presents to give people, like the awsome birthday presents for my two amazing future roomates.
