Sticking Together
Today, it was brought to my attention that the bio students stick together. Now, I’m not talking about we follow each other around all day and have dinner with each other, I mean that we support each other, in class and out. If some one needs help in a course, not excluding classes outside of the bio department, we give advice, sell/donate our books to the other student, or help them out in the course.
There are a few that have dinner together while others just chill outside and talk before (sometimes during) and after class. We all seem to have some sort of connection or friendship with each other in our department.
Maybe it is because there are so few of us biology majors, so we see each other all day long, we can’t help but get close to each other. I calculated today that I see one professor 9.6 hours a week.
Its not just all the sophomores sticking together. There are a few upperclassmen in our classes and they pass on their wisdom about getting into medical school or MCATs, etc. In a way we feed off of each other, we learn not only from our professors, we learn from each other.
In college, it is really hard to be labeled one thing. In high school, I was just a band geek. Now, I’m a biology major, who is in Tri Sigma, Black Student Union, Science Club, and a blogger that lives in Dehornle.
Mylynn News
Today, I stumbled across some great news for Lynn students. We can now use our Lynn Bucks to in the caf. Lynn Bucks are kind of like free money that the school gives students that live on campus to use around campus for food. They only work for food and only on campus. Finding out that we could use them to let our friends eat in the caf is great news!
“Starting Monday, March 23, students who have a meal plan can use their Lynn Bucks to invite a guest to the cafeteria (prior to this Lynn Bucks were only accepted at Christine’s and Knights’ Court). If a student has Lynn Bucks, they can swipe their card and pay for their guest. The meal price for breakfast, lunch, dinner or brunch will be deducted from their Lynn Bucks account.”
Cash in hand
Around here, there are things going on all the time. Lynn University normally has some crazy exciting thing going on for that day, if it is Pie and RA or Coffee in the Court Yard. Sometimes the things around campus cost money which means, if you don’t have any on you at the moment, you might miss out.
Granted, we are college students so most of the time we are broke and don’t want to part with the little money we have, so Lynn University tries to keep things in the average college students price range which is great.
The other day, there was Pie and RA. Any student on campus could pie an RA for a $1. How cool is that? Think of it this way, if one of them has ever written you up, nows your chance to get even…. with whip cream and a cherry on top!
Since Relay for Life is coming up next month, and all the organizations around campus are working extra hard to raise money to battle cancer, there are going to be many exciting events every day for weeks, up until the big day. Just by simply having a few bucks in your pocket around here can go a long way to having fun on campus or doing good for the cancer research.
Oh and vending matchines! Sometimes when professors let their students out for a 5 minute break, some students like to grab something to drink or a snack out of the vending matchines. Just by having a few dollars in your pocket, your day can greatly turn around on campus.
By the way, if anyone wants to donate to Relay for Life, be sure to do so before April 4th!
4 am wake up call
You have got to be kidding me, the 4 am wake up call the alarm going off was just some stupid person who pulled it? Ugh!

Just a few more days until the nation votes for the next Commander in Chief! Vote for what is important to you. Vote for something. Just get out there and vote!
Replacement phone
I got my replacement phone today. I am so happy! Now I can call people again! Right now it is charging so I can than later use it. I felt like my left arm was missing. Now I am whole again! *pauses* I am so not going to quote an Austin Powers line.
Hint: He was talking about Mini Me in a song…
Broken phone
I am so happy to be back to my dorm room. I had fun with my family, but I was starting to miss my freedom a little too much.
Sadly, soon as I arrived in DC, my cell phone broke. I didn’t realize it was the phone, not the charger until I got back. Long long long, story that I do not feel like going into details over. I’m a little upset since it has so much information on it and that I use it all the time for everything. I am almost not sure how to function at school without it.
Thank goodness T Mobile has all my information online that was on my cell phone so I can find my address book and call people to tell them that my phone is broken.
Now I have to run around town tomorrow to try and get my phone fixed in the middle of my always busy monday’s. Great.

One of those nights
I am a little stressed tonight. I am trying to keep on top of everything but it can be harder than it looks sometimes.
I thnk for the first time in a while, I am going to go to bed early.
One day at a time. blah blah blah….
College moves every quickly. Just have to go with the flow. You get used to it after a while. I think thats why its so hard at first. New dance. New beat. Just have to feel it and keep on going. Like our embrassing parents say, shake your grove thang.
