New Friends

I’m asking my friend Brittany H. (there are two Brittany’s now, so I need to distinguish between them) what I should write about; I’ve been out of material for a while now. Very sad. She suggested I write about my new friends! I think that’s a brilliant idea because I have made some new friends this semester.

First I met Sam, who moved in next door with Bernard and Aaron. He has practically moved into our room. He’ll come back from class, drop his backpack on our floor, take off his shoes, and collapse somewhere. There have been times when he’s left the backpack, two pairs of shoes, and a pair of sunglasses in our room. If he loses something, he looks for it over here. He also has an obsession with my slinky…

Then, of course, there are Alyssa and Brittany H. I’ve known both of them since freshman year last year, but I became friends with Alyssa last semester (we had to work on that awful/time-consuming/frustrating-the list could go on- Entrepreneurship project together. Once again this semester, Alyssa and I have group work together (after working together so much already, we find it easier to work with someone we trust, i.e., each other). She brought Brittany over one night and we all went to Cold Stone together (love ice cream). Now I see them both nearly every day. (I also discovered that Alyssa has played softball, so she’s going to be my catch buddy). Both of them have donated chocolate to me-naturally I loved them immediately because of that. Publix chocolate chip cookies are the absolute best….

I also have 3 friends from my English classes: Brittany B., Holly, and Maria. I see them every day in classes and go to lunch with them sometimes. Brittany cut my hair a couple of weeks ago (under Holly’s close supervision). Now she’s trying to convince me to dye it dark brown. I always have fun with them. I don’t even have to say anything; I just listen to their numerous stories and I’m entertained. It’s great having so many classes with them.

So I have more friends now, and it’s amazing. Though there is a downside…it’s difficult to focus on school work with friends. I never had a problem with that before. I’m having to learn time management all over again. It’s apparently much easier to manage your time when you have no social life. I enjoy myself with them, though; wouldn’t trade it for anything.
