Summer Term Financial Aid
April is here! May graduation is shortly around the corner and many of you have only a few more credits to graduate and may be considering taking classes over the 4-week Summer Term.
Here is a quick guide to financial aid for the Day Undergraduate Summer Term:
- If you are registered in a minimum of six credit hours, you could apply for Federal Stafford Loans. You must complete the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the 2008 Stafford Loan Request Form (mark it “summer term” boldly on the form) and – if you are a first-time borrower- complete the Master Promissory Note and Loan Entrance Interview online at www.lynn.edu/loans.
Here are the Federal Stafford Loan eligibility amounts:
| Earned | Dependent Student | Independent Student | ||
| Credit Hours | Subsidized | Unsubsidized | Subsidized | Unsubsidized |
| 0-29 | $1,750 | $1,000 | $1,750 | $3,000 |
| 30-59 | $2,250 | $1,000 | $2,250 | $3,000 |
| 60 and up | $2,750 | $1,000 | $2,750 | $3,500 |
-
Your parents can apply for the Federal Parental Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) at www.lynn.edu/loans. The PLUS is based on your parent’s creditworthiness. You must be registered in six credit hours or more to qualify.
-
If your parents apply and are denied for the PLUS, you could be eligible for a Federal Stafford Loan.
-
You can apply for a private loan online at www.lynn.edu/loans. There is no minimum credit hour requirement. This loan is based on your creditworthiness, as well.

Hello Alicia, and I do apologize for this overdue reply.
Yes, you will need to pay your deposit in order to log into your myLynn account.
Remember, your deposit is not an additional fee; it is actually a payment you are making toward your tuition.
I am your financial aid counselor, so if you have any questions, you may also contact me directly at twilliams@lynn.edu.
Its very intresting and Informative stuff. Women finds it difficult to manage their cost, save $1 a day and you can see the difference it makes
