Keeping Score

It’s Over

Just a pre-note to this blog, I’m holding back tears while writing this. Team Photo

I don’t want to believe it, but its over. We had a great season and thats what makes it hard for me. I can’t imagine going into practice and not seeing Hans being his goofy self, or Ed going just being Ed, or T.C. messing around with the guys. I’m gonna miss it all. This year was just so special, going to Gainsville to play Florida, to going into double OT at Florida Tech in the quaterfinals with Chris Hall scoring a record 42 points.

There were certain players this year, who I just felt rather close to and it helped make the year so great. Mike Baptiste is one of the funniest and nicest guys I’ve met in two years. He doesn’t feel he is better than anybody than anybody. He didn’t seem to care about his stats, as long as we won, which is a great quality to me. Mike’s family was at a lot of games and was always a loud cheering section. Luke Postorino is another. He is just a genuinely nice guy, who comes from a great family. His dad was at every game, and I mean every game. Hans has always been a nice guy. I always knew he would be there for anything and was a great leader. Hugo and Michael Woo are nice guys who always listened to coach and just want to get better and help the team in any way possible. Ed and Michael Vidal were guys that want to be the best, but very down to earth, and Dusty Pflugner was always had advice.

This season, I felt prepared to be the Head Manager because last year’s Head Manager, Pete Gash, helped prepare me by giving me resposibilities at the end of the year, and having the coaches help whenever I needed it and the fact that they had faith in me. I look forward to next year, becuase I will be more prepared and hope to help take on more responsibilities. I told Coach Heskett in the hotel after the game, that I was gonna do whatever work it took to win a national championship, and he said that he was right there with me.

I’m looking forward to next year being even better. And thanks to every fan who supported us this year.
