Motivation
Motivation is not something that can be taught. Motivation is something that comes from within. The biggest drive for me with motivation is I want to be known as one of the best coaches, that is why I have no qualms getting up at 5 am for our team’s conditioning, or being present at individual workouts. Being a part of these has allowed me the opportunity to learn from a great head coach and great assistant coaches.
A great quote about motivation comes from Vince Lombardi, one of the best football coaches ever: “If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done.”
Michael Jordan, highly regarded as the best basketball player was quoted as saying: I play to win, whether during practice or a real game. And I will not let anything get in the way of me and my competitive enthusiam to win. – Michael Jordan
