Busy weekend for King as PB International Film Festival Kicks Off
And you thought YOU were going to be busy this coming weekend (planning, perhaps, a Home Depot trip… maybe a little Bed Bath and Beyond if time allows?).
Well Michael King, Lynn University’s first-ever filmmaker-in-residence, has more pressing obligations. He has two films debuting in this week’s Palm Beach International Film Festival.
“Rapping with Shakespeare” is showing on Saturday, April 12, at 6:45 p.m. at Sunrise Cinemas at Mizner Park (see the trailer at www.rappingwithshakespeare.com). “Crenshaw Nights” is the following evening at 9 p.m. at the DeSantis Center.
Besides those of us heading out to see our very own Emmy-winner’s two latest films, Lynn will have some other representation at the festival this week as well. Stuart Henderson, the former video guru in the College of International Communication, has a documentary showing Monday in the short documentary category. If you want to see “Saving the Earth One Business at a Time,” it’s playing at 9 p.m. at Sunrise in Mizner.

Wow! I don’t think any Lynn students can complain about not having anything to do this weekend, with choices ranging from supporting the Conservatory of music students at the Mizner Park Amphitheater Philharmonic Performance and our very talented film teachers own productions. mmm… decisions decisions!
