Dean talks about Lynn’s “very special” Conservatory of Music
Greg Stepanich, a reporter from the Palm Beach Arts Paper, recently interviewed Jon Robertson, dean of the Conservatory of Music at Lynn University. The two sat down for over an hour in Robertson’s office. “We had a great conversation,” said Robertson. And the two’s candidness shows in the full-length interview online.

They discussed everything from Robertson’s past as a musical prodigy growing up in Jamaica, to his education at Julliard and his position as head of the music department at UCLA, one of the largest music schools in the country.
The two also discussed what Robertson has done to help Lynn’s conservatory gain recognition since he became dean five years ago. “Our size, quality of our faculty, and the level of our students, makes what we have very, very special,” said Robertson.
Today at noon, Dean Robertson – along with assistant dean, Marc Reese and a group conservatory of students will appear on WXEL’s “Classical Variations” show with Joanna Marie for a “Lynn Season Preview.” Tune in online at www.wxel.org/listenlive.html.
