Dinner at Sa’s
Throughout the entire summer I lived with Sa. During this entire time our schedules were usually opposite. When I was there, she was gone. When she was around, I was gone. The few times that we were there together she would always make dinner. It was always scrumptious. However, as a hospitality student, she continued to ask me to make dinner for her.
Tonight was my night to make dinner. I thought it was going to be simple. I knew all kinds of meals that I could make however; I was unaware of the picky people I was serving. Armando was the only one that wasn’t picky. Karina can’t eat seafood. Sa doesn’t like red sauce. Erica doesn’t like meatballs. To satisfy everyone I decided to make meatballs, chicken, peppercorn pork, spinach & artichoke dip, garlic rosemary potatoes, asparagus, fresh dinner rolls, and then banana foster to complete the meal.
Everything was really delicious. The spinach and artichoke dip was not completely solidified, but it was very flavorful. The peppercorn pork was very tender and the meatballs were perfect. It was my first time cooking banana fosters. I had forgotten the butter so I walked to the Sunoco. I had to slide between the cast iron gates that surround Bocar. I just fit enough to get through.
Erica’s favorite dessert was Banana Foster and she was so happy to taste it. When you make it you take ¼ cup of dark rum and heat it. Once it is heater you light a match to it. A blue flamed glow develops and you pour it over the bananas and sauce. It looks really neat and taste like sweetness. Delicious…mmmmmmm
