Speaking at Founders Day

I find it a privileged and an honor that I was asked to speak on behalf of the student body at Founder’s Day. Being so involved on campus on multiple levels and interacting with students on a daily basis I have the opportunity to really capture what occurs in the Perper Plaza on campus.Â
Every day it is utilized in a multitude of ways. Students read, skateboard, do homework, and we use the space often for programs. To see the large amount of people during the presentation was very uplifting and helped distinguish the Lynn pride that is often indiscernible. My speech this morning in dedication of the Perper Plaza was:
MAKE FRIENDS
ATTEND A PROGRAM
READ A BOOK
SKATEBOARD
PLAY AN INSTRUMENTÂ
I am honored to be here with all of you on Founder’s Day and to speak on behalf of the students in admiration of the Perper Plaza dedication. The Perper Plaza is at the heart of the university. It is becoming a central location for students to meet each other, collaborate, fundraise, and unite as student body.
As the president of the Knights’ Activities Team I see this as a vital piece of campus to be utilized for programming. We have already used this space to host Java Jams, Coffee in the Courtyard, National Coming Out Day, Ice Cream Socials, Activities Fair, and much more. The Perper Plaza will only continue to provide space for students to get involved.Â
Two extraordinarily generous individuals, Mr. and Mrs. Perper, have come forward and provided funds, enabling the university to have designed and build an addition to our courtyard. As students of Lynn University, we are deeply grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Perper for making this possible. The students, faculty, alumni, family, and friends cannot thank you enough for your continuous support to our university and our mission.
