The Swamp
Sean, Ron, Jon, Korrin, Jill, EJ, and Andy just got back from eating dinner at the Swamp, a restaurant across from UF campus. I got scallops wrapped in bacon with sweet fries. It was interesting because they put bbq sauce on top.
I am the Associate Director of Business Administration for the South Atlantic region of residence halls. Everyone that came out to dinner is on the SAACURH Executive Committee with me. We went to Sean’s hotel room to plan out the agenda for the boardroom on Saturday and what we would be doing tomorrow at registration. Ron is apparently getting sleepy in this meeting.
When we finished planning out the agenda and stuff I help Sean (our advisor) download a YouTube video to be placed in a PowerPoint for his advisor-elect bid. Every two years at the SAACURH conference the advisor position is up for election. Sean was re-bidding this year and his theme for his bid was the Rocky Horror Show.
His theme didn’t even begin to explain what he was doing. If the picture doesn’t explain it, I don’t know what will. He choose the theme because his students, since freshman year, had wanted to do a horror film show. It was absolutely hilarious.
I couldn’t wait for tomorrow. Conferences are always a lot of fun and I will get to see people from other schools that I haven’t seen in a while like UF, FAU, FGCU, UGA, and many others.
