Armando Is Leaving
I just got to Allison’s house for a Haunakah  Party. I just got back from Chili’s after taking Armando out for dinner. This semester has flown by. In only a few more days Armando will be leaving for break and for next semester. He is going to Ireland to study abroad.
I am really excited for him and wish him the best of luck. I think that he will have a great experience and awesome opportunity to explore the world. It will be a lot different here without him. I met him Freshman year and we have been best friends since then. He came home with me at the end of Freshman year and met my mom and family.
It has been so much fun getting to know him as a best fri end. I do not characterize too many individuals as my best friend. It is really a name that distinguishes someone that is really close to me. Next semester will be really different for me. I won’t have that person I used to have to go to dinner or go to the mall. The bro who would just come over to my room on duty to keep me company was Armando.
I already have my phone cards ready to call Ireland. Whenever I went home for break or holidays I would always be sure to bring back a batch of my mom’s brownies because I knew how much he loved them so much. I got a card this morning from him this morning and I didn’t know what to say….
You know, if you both download Skype (http://skype.com) and get a headset (or, headphones and a microphone) for your computers, you can talk to each other for free whenever you want. It’s fabulous. I went on a study tour to London last summer and used it to call home. Incredible convenient.
You can do video on Skype too. We talked to Laura when she was in Spain. Lucky for both of us, she had a camera but we didn’t.
