My Knightlife

Ever since Spring 2008 I have been looking forward to seeing One Republic in concert. Throughout the entire summer as KAT chair I was spending a descent amount of time negotiating and discussing contracts with the management of One Republic. We wanted to have an opening concert for the first time in Lynn history. We thought that One Republic would have been a perfect choice. Unfortunately costs prohibited us from doing this. As KAT chair I am still continuously working on trying to get them to perform at Lynn. However, we a concert was announced during winter break for a performance in Fort Lauderdale, it was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse.

I would have thought some of my friends would had contacted be during the break saying they heard about the concert announcement. Only Karina knew about it. I thought it would be a great opportunity to give each of my friend’s a New Years gift and for a Lauren, a birthday surprise. I bought 24 tickets to see One Republic for tonight at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale.

We left 4:00pm for the concert. Doors opened at 6:00pm and I wanted to make sure we were front in line. When we arrived at Revolution, no one was there. Some of us were hungry so we went to the pizza store around the corner and brought it back to wait in line.

Doors didn’t open at 6pm like they said. The doors ended up opening at 6:40pm. There were three opening bands. I knew Eric Hutchinson was opening, but the other two I wasn’t familiar with. When Heather showed up (who I gave two tickets to), she looked at me with an expression that didn’t look too good. “I forgot the tickets at campus!” Everyone with me looked at her in SHOCK! 100.7 radio station was right there and luckily overheard what she said, and gave her two tickets. LUCKY!!

Being in the front of the line, we were right up to the front of the stage. It was an unbelievable concert. They were an outstanding band live!! Eric Hutchinson mocked Justin Timberlake and was really good.
