The Tallahassee Drive
Six hour drive to Tallahassee feels like 24 hours. I guess it didn’t help much that I was awake most of the evening. Last night I took Erica to the Miami airport. We left at 5:30pm and didn’t end up getting to Miami until 7:45pm. On the way home I didn’t think I would have any problems, that wasn’t the case however. I didn’t get home until 10:00.
I made chocolate covered strawberries for everyone, but only a few have received some to try. They are dipped in semi-sweet chocolate and capped with white chocolate. They are absolutely delicious, but I think my chocolate consumption is extreme the past two days.
It was 2am and I hadn’t packed at all. I thought it would take a simple 20 minutes, but it ended up being more than an hour. You know how distractions interrupt your focus… We finally got all the stuff ready and everyone was at the van by 4:45am. I have NEVER gone to a conference and had everyone show up on time. We left at 4:51am sharp out of the parking lot.
Drive wasn’t too bad. We did excellent for timing. I didn’t like the driving in the dark; it made me sleepy, but once the sun came up it was good. Everyone was passed out. I had to sing to myself and I went through all six cds like 100 times. We made only necessary stops and got here safe and sound…conference weekend is now beginning…
