SGA President Candidate
At the deadline for SGA E-Board applications the position of SGA President and SGA Vice President was vacant. I had some original thoughts to run for SGA President, but I wanted to give an opportunity to other students that may want to establish a leadership position on campus. However, when I was informed that their were no applications in, my attitude had changed.
I will be going into my senior year and my current class (Class of 2009) is very leadership driven. Any leadership position on campus is primarily filled by someone in my class and when we graduate, we need to ensure that our legacy is continued and involvement on campus continues to thrive.
My vice president is Lynette Hidalgo and the platform on which we are running includes the following:
Goals for SGA:
1. Bridging the gap between students, faculty and administration
2. Putting FUN back into SGA
3. Branding and marketing SGA to become more of a focal point
4. Increasing student involvement
5. Increasing club/organization involvement
6. Further committee development and proactive approach to getting things accomplished
7. Increase SGA Publicity
Expectations for SGA:
1. Constant communication between the e-board
2. SGA appearance at club/organization meetings and events
3. What the students want, we will research and find out…
4. No request will be left unanswered
5. People want to be here, not have to be here…
