Pacific Beach

Originally it was going to be six people in one car….that soon changed to seven, and for safety purposes it was not doable. Jimmy, John Henry and I decided to take public transportation and meet the others at Pacific Beach. This wasn’t the first time either. Jade drove the three of us as close as she could get to Old Town Bus Station. The Rock and Roll Marathon was today so they had all kinds of roads blocked off.

When we eventually got there we crossed the tracks to where the buses arrived. Kicking the soccer ball around for thirty minutes and still no bus was pretty questionable. After getting off the phone with a friend from back home, I saw a sign about half the size of an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper. “Bus temporarily disabled until 2:45. Get picked up on the east side of the tracks.” We were on the west side and it was 1: 45 now and we had been waiting here for ever.

After finally getting on the bus and then sitting in traffic everywhere because of the marathon we made it to the others sitting by the pier. We played soccer for a bit. The water was MAD cold….but laying out in the sun added “some” color to me, so I think.

We stayed there until sunset, walked to Mission Beach, and grabbed some dinner. All my board shorts were ruined in my suitcase so I picked up a new pair….Hope they fit!

  1. Hey Joey,

I was reading your blog and noticed your from MA (and a sox and pats fan.) I was wondering where you are from? I’m coming to the school in the fall (also from MA) as a transfer student. I was hoping I could ask you some questions. If you get a chance please email me.

Thanks, hope you’re having a great summer.
