Poetry Coffee House
This was my first ever Poetry Coffee House tonight. I had always walked through on various occasions to check it out. There is usually a large crowd and very talented individuals who express their feelings, opinions, and thoughts through poems, statements, short stories, and personal reflections. This month’s Poetry Coffee House was focused on cancer and breast cancer to be particular. It was a struggle to sit there and listen to some of the stories. I have a personal connection with cancer and one of my friend is currently fighting. For water to not shed from my eyes would be a miracle, but it wouldn’t truly express how I felt and the butterflies that develop in my stomach. I think that the speakers were very powerful and the courage they had to speak in front of a crowd, many strangers, is remarkable. The individual that discovers a cure to cancer will be recognized world-wide, but when that will happen? No one knows, but if I had passion for science it would be my lifelong desire to find an answer
