SGA Academic Forum
With the second ever Academic Forum sponsored by SGA coming up this evening, we were psyched!!! There was a huge hype across campus for the release of the January Term Courses. VP of Academic Affairs, Cynthia Paterson, answered ANY question that students had concerning the academics at the university and in particular, the J Term. Over 190 students showed up for the forum with questions and answers. The overwhelming amount of students created an atmosphere for great questions and discussion some of the questions included:
- Why do students have to pay for internships over the summer?
- How is the honors program becoming stronger since Honors Seminar is no longer being offered?
- Do seniors need to participate in J-Term?
- Can you take more than one J-Term course?
Deans from all the colleges were there and every question was answered. There was no question that was not given an accurate answer and that is what is great.
