YouTube Careers
Hello readers!
I was in my Public Relations/Strategy Planning class with Professor Carlin today and as usual on every Thursday students present an article and PowerPoint to go along with the article and chapter they signed up for. One of the students decided to do the chapter on careers. The article of choice dealt with YouTube and how some people can actually make a career off of the video based site.
We after the student presented we watched a couple of short videos that highlighted this matte. One of them was from the Ellen DeGeneres Show. These little girls were huge fans of Nikki Manaj. So Ellen had the girls come on the show to showcase them singing and dancing…. then surprised them with being able to meet Nikki herself! The girls freak out and were amazed. These girls were found through YouTube.

After watching this girl, which made my whole class laugh and smile and coo over these little girls we watched another example of a YouTube sensation. This channel is known as Sassy Gay Friend. I’m not quite sure what it is all about, but it seemed like a good example.

The class was pretty interesting today. Professor Carlin gave some advice because he said that he has had students in the past come to him asking for any jobs he knows of that have openings. You should have an idea of what kind of job you’d like before jumping right into it. Also if you have any questions about jobs or careers you can always go to the Career Center by the Trinity resident hall for any advice, help or suggestions.
