So here I am in Jacksonville, enjoying a beautiful hotel with my friend Ashley at the end of the 2nd week of summer classes! We pretty much have 10 days left which is just blowing my mind how quick it is going by.
Anyway…. the last couple of weeks have been a bit hectic in my thoughts for us 3.0 kids who are in the program. It is crazy with 6 hours of classes a day, everyday.
So today I took a train up here (to Jacksonville) with my friend to accept a scholarship I won! So far it has been such a good day after 7 hours on the train. We got here and got ready for dinner.
That’s it for now I know it was short, but I will put more up soon!!
So thursday for me was a real good day.
That morning my phone went off and I answered it because I thought it was Dr. Jaffe’s office calling me to set up an appointment. To my surprise, it was a woman representing The Florida Council for the Blind. She was calling to tell me that I had won their highest award in their scholarship – $2,500!! I was in shock, but so happy! I had worked hard to apply for the scholarship for a second time (I applied last year and won $500).
So now I am trying to get up to Jacksonville from May 20-23 to go to the convection and banquet to accept my award. I hope to attend it because I think it would be a great chance for me to experience it.
I took a half an hour to myself thursday afternoon and went out to one of the hammock (even got some sun) befoe heading off to work. Then on Friday I went out to the pool (3rd time since I’ve been at Lynn) for an hour to just relax – it felt wonderful! And today, I finished up my essay and was very happy with that. It has been a good last few days!!
