A Celebration of Liberty Event

by Misaki | October 6, 2012

Hello!
Last night, I enjoyed watching the event “A Celebration of Liberty” in outside!

*Mr. Robert Watson with Lynn Brass Quintet on the back

There were a lot of historical speeches and fun music presented by the faculty, the drama students, and the conservatory students…

As you can see in the program, a lot of historical speeches by the Founding Fathers were performed by the Drama department. They dressed up like them, and spoke their words with passion. “Give me Liberty, or Give me death!” … I remember this strong phrase from the Patrick Henry’s speech last night.

The event was very special, and this reminded us how the United States has developed and the importance of the idea of Liberty from the beginning… Thank you for the great performances, and music!

Be prepared for the final presidential debate in 16days!!!
Almost there!!!

I absolutely agree. I loved assisting to this event. I also feel like if not all, the greatest majority of people who went loved it too. Everyone walked away with a smile on their faces. It was exciting to see everybody enjoying themselves, singing and clapping. and listening to some of the most powerful liberty speeches that marked United States history. I loved watching my professors act. I learned must have many more “hidden talents” then the ones they just show in the classroom dimensions.
At the end I heard president say: “We should do this every weekend”
Of course he was just joking, but in my opinion, this memorable unifying kind of events should be done much often.

Thank you very much for your comment, Maria!
And also, thank you for assisting this great event. :)

It was very interesting to listen to those speeches even though I’m not familiar with them so much…!
Also there were so many people came to see the event from off campus. I absolutely agree with you that we should have this type of fun events more often on the campus!! :)

Thank you for the comment!
